Submission Guidelines

The editors require previously unpublished material and do not accept simultaneous submissions. Previously published material does not include works that have appeared on your personal website, unless that website consists of, or contains, a publication, such as an electronic magazine, anthology, e-book, etc.

Poems should be 60 lines or less, including breaks, unless you can convince us that your work is that good and should be published despite being more than 60 lines. We are not averse to epic poems, as long as it is high-quality.

All work must be original - we do not tolerate plagiarism!

If we decide to publish your work we will send you an e-mail informing you of our intent. At that time, we will require a brief bio, 50 words or less, telling us about you and your writing career.

Please do not contact us regarding your submission. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, it is very difficult to send acknowledgments to everyone who submits; however, we will try to send a notification of some sort. Please allow 6 weeks for a reply from us. If you haven't heard from us in that time, you can assume your story or poem has not been selected for publication.

Submissions sent as email attachments should preferably take the form of one Word .doc or .rtf containing up to four poems. Include in the subject line 'submissions'.

While the editors prefer free verse mode and is fond of rich sound, play within form, image, unique diction and syntax, SVP will consider well-crafted poetry.

Response to submissions is normally 1-6 weeks. Submit 3 - 5 poems, contact information including email address. If you are making a simultaneous submission, please mention that fact in your cover letter, and let us know immediately if it gets accepted elsewhere.

No previously published poems, please.

Stone View Press is currently reading for their Winter 2003 issue.

SVP is a print journal and is published quarterly.
Contributors will be paid in copies of the issue they appear in and featured writers will recieve $10.00 for each piece published.

If you agree to these conditions and have poetry to submit, please send to:
